Our partnership with the “NEVER A NEVERLAND” (NNL) Film & Campaign began July 2010 when FUNDaFIELD founder, Kyle Weiss, asked for a suitcase full of One World Futbols to give away as part of a documentary feature designed to utilize the power of story to move audiences to take actions that would benefit the beautiful people of Swaziland.
The soccer balls were a huge hit, and one year later, One World donated 30 more soccer balls that could be given away during the NNL 1st historic S.O.S walk across Swaziland, inspired by Martin Luther King Jr’s march across Alabama.
Swaziland is a kingdom in Africa that is the size of New Jersey. It has a population of less than a million people – 200,000 of these are children who have been orphaned by the highest HIV/AIDS rate in the world. The problem is big, but the country is small enough that a solution is possible.
Since Caroline McGraw & Elkin Antoniou, the producers of NNL, started this project over 3 years ago, they have witnessed profound complexities to the problems plaguing Swaziland. They have also experienced first hand the tangible and sustainable solutions that can be a template for change and transformation. All of these have been documented and built into an exciting and historic film and campaign to help save this beautiful country.
The NNL film and campaign has united nearly a dozen charitable and commercial partners who are taking action, and with the promotion of the film and the campaign, audiences everywhere can help make sure that Swaziland never becomes a “Neverland”.
With your support through our Buy One Give One program, One World Futbol can continue to help the children of Swaziland by providing all terrain, ultra durable soccer balls for the orphan care points, schools, charities, and children’s homes featured in the NNL film and campaign.
